[TEAC Firmware Updater for the DV-W50D Ver.1.72A Instruction Manual]

DV-W50D_FW107.EXE is a program to update the firmware of the TEAC 
DV-W50D. 

Precaution:

It is recommended that the user closes all other applications and
remove any discs from the DV-W50D prior to running the update program.

 TEAC take no responsibility for any trouble caused by using this program
(details are described in the Licensing Agreement). If you do not agree
with this condition, do not execute this program.
 
 After completing the update, please restart the system.

1. Operating environment
   PC-AT compatible PC or equivalent

   Supported Drive  One Unit DV-W50D on Windows 98, 98SE and ME
                    One Unit DV-W50D on Windows 2K and XP

2. Supported Operating Syatems
   Following OSes
       Windows 98
       Windows 98 Second Edition
       Windows ME
       Windows 2000
       Windows XP

3. Precautions in executing this program
3-1. Remove any discs from the DV-W50D before executing this program.
3-2. Do not try to access the drive while update is in process. 
3-3. The firmware update may not work properly while other application
     and utility are to run. 
     In this case, you must first disable or close the other application
     before starting this program.
3-4. DV-W50D_FW106.EXE requires administrator privileges 
     to run on Windows 2000 and Windows XP.

4. Operating procedure
4-1. Please make sure no disc inside of DV-W50D before the program start.
4-2. Double-clicking the icon of DV-W50D_FW106E.EXE.
4-3. When the object drive is discovered the pop-up window that designates
     the extract is displayed.
     Click the install button.
4-4. Command prompt window and pop-up window of automatic update are
     displayed.
     When we push the Yes button here, the update of F/W is started. 
 
     Warning:
     Exit Windows Explorer and all the active applications beforehand.

     NEVER turn off the power of your PC or drive, shut Down the system, 
     Or go into Standby mode while executing this program.
     Do not force termination of the Operating system, terminate a task 
     while executing the program. 
     
     Select "NO" to quit update.
     The message will be displayed to confirm that you quit update.
     Please select "NO" again.
     The message will appear to indicate that "0" (zero) drive has compleated
     update.
     Then Update will be finished.

     Caution:
     Once F/W update completes correctly, Pop-up window will be displayed 
     in order to notify you of the update completion (It will take 30 sec 
     to 60 sec after atarting F/W update).
     DO NOT operate something else and DO NOT turn off your computer until 
     Pop-up windowis displyed.

4-5. When the update of the firmware finished property, the pop-up window for
     the complete confirmation is displayed.
     When it pushes O.K. the update is completed.  
     You must restart the system for the DV-W50D to work correctly.  

     If you continue operation without restart,the system may become 
     unstable or hang.
