| How to use
the Updater |

The downloaded file ( R58S10P01.EXE )is
compressed as a self-extracting archive file
Please extract the file to an appropriate folder on your hard disc.

When you run R58S10P01.EXE, the UPDATER.EXE,
the CDRFIRM.BIN, the README.TXT,
the READMEJ.TXT, the README.PDF
and the READMEJ.PDF
will be generated in the resulting folder named R58S10P01.

Run the UPDATER.EXE and follow the on-screen
instructions to update your firmware in the drive (CD-R58S).

| Precautions |
Be sure to observe the following precautions when running
UPDATER.EXE.
Please follow the instruction below, otherwise system
problem may be caused.

Disable the Auto insert notification (autorun). |
| · |
Be sure to extract and run the program
on your hard drive. |
| · |
Never turn OFF the power of your PC and
drive while running the Updater. |
| · |
Close any other active application software. |
| · |
Eject any disc in the drive (CD-R58S). |
| · |
When Microsoft Windows has been started using a SCSI hard disk, computers
may become unstable depending on the SCSI
card after running the Updater.
If this happens, turn the power off and back ON to run the Updater. If
"The selected drive's firmware is the latest version!" is displayed,
the firmware has been normally updated. |
